Kate Clayborn, 2017

3.75 Stars for Setting the Scene

Excellent debut from Kate Clayborn. Sweet and hot with difficult decisions for the couple to make from life stakes of work and history which is refreshing (these! are! adults!). Kit is a smart and sexy FMC and her drive to be rooted is built out with all the right supporting structure. Ben is imperfect and rash and also heartbreaking with his own baggage. I wanted more from the friend gals but since this is a trilogy it makes sense we only got hints of them. This is a lovely read that is surprisingly not at all about winning the lottery. Instead it’s about taking real risks personally, learning from and accepting person histories. It doesn’t have the depth of Georgie All Along but it’s the charming younger sister to that novel.
